About TierTrail

TierTrail is an independent reference for what AI tools cost. We track 120 AI subscriptions and LLM APIs in 12 task categories, read every price from the vendor’s own pricing page, and check it again every day.

Why we built it

AI pricing changes faster than any other software pricing: new plans, credit systems, per-seat rules, yearly-only prices, model rates that move with every release. Most price lists online are copied from each other and go stale within weeks. We wanted one place where every number has a source and a date, so you can decide in minutes and trust what you read.

What you get here

• Prices you can check. Every price links to the official page it comes from and shows the date it was last confirmed. Our robot re-reads every official page daily, the 20 most visited tools every 4 hours.
• Nothing we can’t verify. If a price can’t be confirmed automatically, we don’t show it. A tool we can’t confirm for 14 days is hidden until it can be.
• Plain comparisons. “Paid from”, top plan, yearly savings and API cost per task use one documented formula for every tool. Billing marks (“billed yearly”, “per seat”) sit next to every number.
• Price history. Every change is logged with a date and a source, so you can see how a plan or a model’s price moved.
• Tools for decisions. Find my AI, side-by-side compare and the API cost calculator use fixed rules that are published in the methodology.

Our principles

• Independent. We sell no AI product. No vendor can pay to change a price, its place in a comparison or what we write about it.
• No scores. We don’t rate tools. Order comes only from price or from published, fixed rules.
• No guesses. We never convert currencies, estimate missing prices or turn credits into a made-up cost per image.
• Open about money. Some links may be affiliate links; they never change which tools we list or their order. Sponsored content, if any, is labeled and kept outside comparison tables.
• Open about mistakes. Every price is checked on the official page and dated. We fix errors within 48 hours and log every fix in the corrections log.

Who we are

TierTrail is made by a small team of engineers and editors who buy and compare AI tools for work every day. The team keeps the price robot running, reviews reader reports and writes the plain-English notes on each tool page.
